History

Established in 2009.
Frank has been in the Donut and Bakery business for his whole life. At 81 he still gets up every morning with his wife Champa to make the daily Donuts and Pastries. His techniques are the best in the business, not cutting corners and producing the finest quality product using old fashioned tried and true procedures and time honored techniques.

Owner

Frank grew up in the Donut and Bakery business in the 1930's and 40's. He worked as a baker in small and large shops. In the 1960's he opened the first of a series of retail donut shops and was well known and established in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the 1970's Frank became a sales rep for Westco Bakery Supplies and serviced mostly the North Bay getting to know most of the Bakery owners and their shops in Sonoma and Marin Counties. In 2008 Frank came out of retirement to establish 'The Donut Cafe' with his wife Champa, giving Santa Rosa what it was lacking 'A truely honest old fashioned Donut Shop.'

  The Best Tasting Donuts I have ever eaten! Real Fruit Jelly Donuts! The owner, a charming gentleman has been perfecting his Masterpieces here over the last 50+ years. Worth every penny and mile just to experience how Donuts are meant to be!

  Very nice folks and good donuts. I would love to have great donuts, but they don't exist here in Santa Rosa just yet. I also wish these folks where open later, but alas that can be hard. They are sweet, but like their donuts, not too sweet. Friendly and consistent. Just remember, like many donut spots, CASH only.

  Feels like a mom & pop kinda place. The old guy (frank) always has a smile on his face. Love this place.
